Visual Drag-and-Drop Label Designer
Create professional labels through an interactive visual canvas with support for text, dynamic fields, barcodes, QR codes, images, watermarks, boxes, and lines. Elements can be positioned, resized, aligned, styled, duplicated, or removed without manually creating complex label layouts.
Dynamic Business Record Data
Connect label elements directly with fields from the selected business model, such as product name, internal reference, barcode, price, and other available information. Dynamic field mapping allows the same template to automatically display information from different records during printing.

1.) Configure Label Designer User Access
Assign the appropriate Label Designer role from the user's Access Rights page. Administrators can control whether a user receives normal label access, designer capabilities, or manager-level permissions based on their responsibilities.
2.) Manage Available Paper Formats
Open ZPL Label Designer - Configuration - Paper Formats to view all configured label paper formats. The list provides important information such as paper size, orientation, width, height, label gaps, default status, and active status for quick management.
3.) Configure Paper Size, Margins, and Label Spacing
Open a paper format to define its dimensions, orientation, company, margins, and horizontal or vertical gaps between labels. A paper format can also be marked as the default so it is automatically available during label printing.
4.) Configure the Label Template
The label template form stores the selected model, label dimensions, DPI, company, default paper format, margins, padding, background options, and watermark configuration. Users can open the designer, refresh the preview, download sample ZPL, or print a sample directly from the template.
5.) Define Label Size and Sample Record
The Label Setup section controls the label size preset, width, height, DPI, and sample record used in the visual designer. The central canvas immediately represents the configured label dimensions so designers can work with the correct physical label size.
6.) Configure Paper Margins
Use the Paper Margin section to define top, right, bottom, and left margins around the label content. These values help control the printable area and provide proper spacing when preparing labels for different printers and media sizes.
7.) Configure Label Padding
The Label Padding section provides independent top, right, bottom, and left padding controls. Padding helps maintain consistent internal spacing between label boundaries and the elements placed inside the design.
8.) Customize Page Style
Set the label background color, border color, optional background image, image fitting behavior, and opacity from the Page Style section. These controls allow users to create branded or visually distinct label designs according to their requirements.
9.) Add and Customize Watermarks
The Watermark section supports both text and image watermarks. Designers can configure watermark color, size, opacity, and rotation to add branding, identification, or visual protection without interfering with the primary label information.
10.) Add Label Elements to the Canvas
The Elements panel provides reusable components including Text, Odoo Field, Barcode, QR Code, Image, Watermark, Box, and Line. Elements can be dragged directly onto the label canvas to build customized layouts without manually writing printer commands.
11.) Control Canvas Zoom and Grid
Use the Canvas settings to adjust the designer zoom level, grid spacing, and snap-to-grid behavior. These options help users position elements accurately and maintain consistent alignment across the entire label design.
12.) Configure Element Layout and Position
The Layout tab provides controls for X and Y coordinates, width, height, rotation, corner radius, position locking, movement, alignment, and layer order. This allows each selected element to be placed precisely within the label.
13.) Customize Element Style and Typography
The Style tab controls font size, horizontal and vertical alignment, text color, background color, borders, font family, line height, and letter spacing. Designers can use these options to maintain clear typography and consistent visual styling.
14.) Map Dynamic Record Dataq
The Data tab connects a selected field element to a field from the configured business model. In the example, the element is mapped to the product Name field so the appropriate product name is automatically inserted during label generation.
15.) Configure Advanced Element Options
The Advanced tab provides individual element margins and padding along with Duplicate and Delete actions. These controls make it easier to fine-tune element spacing or quickly reuse an existing element with similar formatting.
16.) Configure QR Code Data and Quality
Select a QR Code element to configure its value source, mapped field, magnification, and error correction settings. The example connects the QR code directly to the product Barcode field, allowing record-specific QR codes to be generated automatically.
17.) Review Generated ZPL Code
The ZPL Code tab displays the printer-ready ZPL commands generated from the visual design. Users can refresh the generated code whenever the template changes and review the final printer instructions without manually translating the graphical layout into ZPL.
18.) Review the Design JSON Structure
The Design JSON tab provides the structured configuration behind the visual label layout. It contains element positions, sizes, text settings, colors, alignment, fonts, and other design properties, making the saved template structure transparent and manageable.
19.) Print Labels from Selected Products
Select one or multiple products from the product list and choose Actions → Print Label. This provides a convenient way to generate labels in bulk directly from the records users are already working with.
20.) Preview and Configure Labels Before Printing
The Print Labels wizard displays the selected template, record count, quantity, paper format, layout information, and a visual preview before printing. Users can choose to print a PDF, download the ZPL output, or cancel the operation if changes are required.
21.) Generate Final Labels for Multiple Records
The final PDF output generates labels for all selected records using the configured template and record-specific information. Each label can include dynamic product data, QR codes, references, pricing, watermarking, and the layout defined in the visual designer, providing a ready-to-print output for operational use.
