Multiple Lot Selection
The Multiple Lot Selection feature allows users to easily select multiple lot numbers for a single product within the purchase order lines. This feature is particularly beneficial for businesses dealing with products stored in multiple batches, ensuring accurate tracking of each lot number.
Lot Number Configuration
The Lot Number Configuration feature requires enabling lot and serial number tracking from the Inventory settings. Once activated, users can configure each product to be tracked by lot numbers, improving the traceability of products through the entire supply chain.
Product Tracking
Product Tracking The Product Tracking feature enables businesses to track products by their lot number directly through the product’s inventory tab. This feature simplifies the process by providing an easy configuration option, ensuring that each product batch can be traced from purchase to sale.
Automatic Lot Selection
The Automatic Lot Selection feature automatically populates selected lot or serial numbers during incoming shipments. This functionality reduces manual entry and potential errors by streamlining the process of associating products with their respective lots, helping users save time and improve inventory accuracy.

1.) Enable Global Traceability Settings
To begin using multi-lot selection, you must first enable the traceability feature in your Odoo settings. Navigate to Inventory → Configuration → Settings and check the Lots & Serial Numbers box to activate comprehensive tracking from vendors to customers.

2.) Define Individual Product Tracking
Once global settings are active, specify how each product should be tracked. In the Inventory tab of any product form, locate the Traceability section and select By Lots to allow the system to manage multiple unique identifiers for that specific item.
3.) Assign Multiple Lots to Purchase Lines
When creating a Request for Quotation (RFQ) or Purchase Order, this module allows you to select or generate multiple lot numbers directly within the order line. This ensures that your inventory requirements are clearly defined before the goods even arrive.
4.) Streamlined Receiving Workflow
Upon confirming a shipment, the system automatically associates the pre-selected lot numbers with the incoming stock. In the Warehouse Receipt, the "Done" column will reflect the total quantity received across all assigned lots, ensuring accurate stock updates.
5.) Verify Lot-Specific Shipments
For full transparency, users can open the Detailed Operations window to see a precise breakdown of the received units. This view confirms exactly which quantities were added to which specific Lot/Serial Number, providing a clear audit trail for your inventory.
