Smart Follower Retention
When a task transitions to a new stage and ownership changes hands, the app automatically adds the previous assignee as a follower on the task. This ensures that team members who previously worked on the task stay informed of its progress and are readily available in the chatter for any follow-up questions, preventing communication silos during hand-offs without requiring manual intervention.
Automated Team Handoff Tracking
This feature enhances project continuity by intelligently managing the task's follower list based on stage movements. As a task progresses through your configured stages and gets reassigned to different users, the system builds a historical chain of followers consisting of everyone who previously held responsibility for the task. This provides full transparency and keeps all relevant contributors updated automatically.

1.) Configure Stage Responsibilities
This configuration allows project managers to define specific rules for each stage of a project. You can designate a "Responsible User" who will be automatically assigned to tasks entering that stage. Additionally, you can restrict access by specifying "Responsible Groups," ensuring only users within those groups can move tasks into that specific stage.

2.) Automatic User Assignment in Initial Stage
When a task is created or resides in a specific stage (such as the "New" stage), the system automatically updates the "Assignees" field to match the responsible user configured for that stage in the project settings. In this example, the task is automatically assigned to Mitchell Admin.

3.) Dynamic Assignee Update Upon Stage Change
When a user moves a task from one stage to another, the app dynamically updates the assigned user based on your predefined rules. Here, moving the task from "New" to "In Progress" automatically removes the previous assignee and assigns it to Joel Willis. This automatic hand-off is also tracked seamlessly in the task's chatter.

4.) Stage Movement Restriction (Access Error)
The app enforces strict access control based on the "Responsible Groups" defined in the project settings. If a user who lacks the required group permissions attempts to move a task to a restricted stage (e.g., trying to move a task to "Done" without being a Project Administrator), the system immediately blocks the action and displays an "Access Error" prompt.
